Caos is local bathing suit line created by two sisters, Cristy and Sari Martelo. Caos' customers become apart of the design process, enabling them to choose everything from the print to the style. While their website is currently under construction, you can visit their Facebook page, where you will be able to find instructions on how to order your one of a kind bathing suit.

A word from the designers!

Living in Miami, bathing suits are essential and it's hard to find ones that have it all: cute, unique, and flattering. So when we were given the opportunity to custom make our own about 10 years ago, it instantly became a passion of ours. We have expanded, creating one of a kind pieces and selling to friends or taking custom orders where the client can experience the whole process for themselves! Seeing someone absolutely love the bathing suit and feeling completely comfortable is why we love doing this, it is the greatest feeling. As for the future, right now we are still small, but we hope to grow and create custom made suits for men and women.

Why the name Caos:

Well it was something we came up to randomly and grew on us. First, it has both of our initials - C and S. Secondly, the way we started was a bit chaotic, it was something that spurred out of the moment. Finally, the process involves finding a bunch of chaotic elements to create something perfect for someone. We love this quote because it really describes the company:
Chaos in the world brings uneasiness, but it also allows the opportunity for creativity and growth.-Tom Barrett

The most anticipated night in the fashion world, otherwise known as the annual Met Gala was held Monday night (May 7th) in New York City. According to Anna Wintour "Only the biggest stars in the world" attend this event and with saying that, it assures that only the best gowns and suits will be worn. Stars wore everything from feathers, lace, & sequence, to almost no clothing at all (yes, we're talking about you, Anja Rubik).
The Costume Institute's exhibit this spring is titled "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations" and imagines the two designers having conversation about fashion, their influences, lives, and philosophies, over a dinner that they never actually eat. Their designs are displayed side by side to show their similar and opposing takes on the female form. The exhibit opened Monday, May 7th and will be displayed until August 19th.

Spring/Summer 2012

The Zimmermann sisters ran through Sydney fashion week with something completely different from all the other designers. This years spring/summer collection consists of pastel hues, floral prints, and the perfect mix of swimwear & outerwear. The collection in a sense is extremely nostalgic, it carries a very 80's punk chic feel, from the rag-do subtle mohawk to the iridescent mesh seen in some of the pieces. With a carefree sophisticated aesthetic, this is definitely one of the most insane and unique collections seen during Sydney's fashion week.

Once inhabited by Louis XIV, the beautiful Chateau De Versailles is now the backdrop of Dior's newest ad, appropriately named Secret Garden- Versailles. Models of moment Daria Strokous, Melissa Stasiuk and Xiao Wen Ju are seen parading through the palace, strutting down stairs and running flawlessly through the garden. What surprises most people is the song selected for the video, Enjoy The Silence by Depeche Mode; the name of the song and its repetitive lyrics suit the video because words are extremely unnecessary, letting the clothing speak for itself.

S P R I N G // S U M M E R  2 0 1 2

Only in its second season 10 Crosby Derek Lam is absolutely killing it. The looks are all modeled by Hanne Gaby Odiele, she carries a cool relaxed sense of style that is perfect for this line; Derek Lam has admitted to her being a sort of muse for him. 10 Crosby isn't cutting any corners in terms of quality, using only the crispest materials, it includes bold painted linens and waxed cotton that looks like leather. Our favorite pieces in the collection have to be the bolded tunic and pencil skirt mix (bottom left & right hand corners), which Lam claims to be "the new suit."
